Eleanor F. Antkowiak, nee Jerawski, 88, formerly of Edison Park, passed away November 13, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Antkowiak, 1994. Beloved mother of Dr. Stan (Fran) Antkowiak, Stacy Haatvedt, Cindy Langley and Steven (Laura) Antkowiak. Proud grandmother of Sara, Ryan, Laura, Michael, Garrison, Andrew, Marissa and Matthew. Great grandmother of Ezra, Ames, Theodore and Korbin. Eleanor was proceeded in death by her dear sister Trudy (Ray) Thomas in 2017. Sister-in-law to Don (Dorothy), Bill (Dolores), George (Marianne) and Roger (Bonnie). Proud Aunt and Godmother to many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was born in Chicago in 1932, and grew up in Cicero, Illinois. She married her beloved Stanley on November 6, 1954 and together they began their family in Chicago, Illinois and strengthened their faith at Immaculate Conception Parish. In addition to raising her four children, Eleanor worked for the City of Chicago as a crossing guard and later worked in the office at Ridgewood High School. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working at the Edgebrook Public Library in her retirement years.
Eleanor moved to Lake Zurich, Illinois in 2003. She enjoyed social events with The Keenagers at St. Francis de Sales.
Eleanor loved going to the movie theater and sharing the "contents" of her purse during the movie. She loved her Bloody Mary's not too spicy and with extra olives. She was a person that liked to start dinner with dessert first. She was a night owl and loved late night TV; Johnny Carson, David Lettermen, the Jimmys', Saturday Night Live, Bachelor/Bachelorette, Big Bang Theory... ok maybe she loved TV entertainment in general, old and new. She loved to laugh. She liked music old and new. She was proud to be a Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was proud of her accomplishments at her various jobs. She was known by many nicknames, Jeri, Sweetie, Auntie Nori, Zeta, Erma, Jeri, Mrs. Choves. She enjoyed going to church. She loved to travel. She loved a good conversation, chatting with friends at church and wonderful neighbors, especially when it included a little bit of gossip. She was loved by so many.
Due to the Covid limitations on public gathering all services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, Eleanor wished donations be made to Catholic Charities at https://www.catholiccharities.net/
